Funeral services for Jimmy Floyd Antwine will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Soper High School Gym with Brent Franks officiating and burial following in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.

Jimmy died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the age of 58 at home with his family. Jimmy Floyd Antwine was born June 4, 1951 in Hugo, Oklahoma the son of Floyd Andrew and Lillie Jean (Males) Antwine. Jimmy lived in the Soper/Nelson area all his life. Jimmy graduated from OSU in 1973 and began teaching Agriculture at Hugo High School. He married Erma Jane Clark on June 1, 1979 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Antlers Church of Christ. Jimmy received his Masters Degree from SOSU in 1981 and after teaching a total of 27 years at Hugo, he moved to serving as Superintendent for Goodland Elementary School where he served for five years. Jimmy served in many civic areas in Choctaw County including the Board of Directors for the Health Department, Livestock Board, and Vice-President of American Farmers and Ranchers. Jimmy loved to garden, plant trees, grow things, care for animals, and attend family gatherings.

Jimmy was preceded in death by one daughter: Haley Brook Antwine; and his father: Floyd Antwine.

Jimmy is survived by his wife: Erma Antwine of the home; two daughters: Megan Antwine of Soper, Carra Burrage & husband Mike of Antlers; one granddaughter: Brook Burrage of Antlers; mother: Lillie Jean Antwine of Soper; two sisters: Pam Moyer & husband Rod, Janice Carter & husband James both of Soper; one brother: Danny Antwine & wife Diana of Soper; nieces & nephews: Bryan & Jennifer Moyer, Angie & Terry Thurman, Jennifer & Jason Griffin, Jayce & Joni Johnson, Jay Carter, Lindsey & Courtney Antwine; great nieces & great nephews: Keely and Nakie Thurman, Emilee and Avery Moyer, Jake and Jett Griffin, and Jasper Johnson.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 27, 2009 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
