A celebration of Velma’s life will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK with Rev. Bryan Smith and Rev. Donnie Knight officiating and burial to follow at the Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo, OK.

Velma Jean Knight, age 66, of Hugo, OK died Friday, March 20, 2009. She was born October 1, 1942 in Paris, TX the daughter of Dave Robert "Buddy"¯ and Arley Alemda (Large) Booth. She married William "Sonny"¯ Knight on December 21, 1995 in Hugo, OK. Velma was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church. She had worked as a nurses aid at Rose Haven. She loved doing crafts and working in her flower beds.

Velma was preceded in death by parents; her husband: William "Sonny"¯ Knight; one son: Roland Dave Knight; one daughter: Patricia Kay Knight; brothers and sisters: Haydon Booth, Laverne Bucklue, Wayne Robert Booth, Ida Lee Hodgon, and Eldar Lewis Booth.

Velma is survived by one daughter: Shauntele Moffitt of Hugo, OK; two grandchildren: Tasha Moffitt and Blake Moffitt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
