Jerry Wayne Hammock

Funeral services for Jerry Hammock will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Brother Joe Maple officiating and burial following in the Soper Cemetery in Soper, OK.

Jerry passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the age of 75. Jerry was born October 8, 1933 in Soper, Oklahoma the son of Wiley Lon and Stella Mae (Holt) Hammock. He had lived in this area all his life and was a member of the Soper Church of Christ. Jerry served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed reading, working with fax machines and loved his pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Wiley and Stella Hammock; one brother: Wiley Jr. Hammock; two sisters: Estelle Fennell and Ruby Fern Lewis; and one nephew: Jack Fennell.

Jerry is survived by one brother: David Hammock and wife Linda of Soper, OK; sister-in-law: Mary Hammock of Tulsa, OK; nieces and nephews: Shirley Spaulding and husband, Dane of Piedmont, South Carolina, Nancy Roberts and husband, Weldon of Wichita Falls, TX, Sammy Davidson of Hugo, OK; Cindy Lewis-Garcia and husband, Dave of San Diego, CA, Jennie Lewis and husband, Mike of Claremore, OK; Denise Delaney and husband, Lonnie of Sapulpa, OK, Dennis Hammock of Tulsa, OK, Ron Hammock of Soper, OK, and Mark Hammock and wife Gina of Soper, OK; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.

The family requests that donations may be made to the Soper Cemetery in Jerry’s memory.
