Funeral services for Joan Gallant will be held on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lynn Tomlinson officiating and burial following in the Soper Cemetery.

Joan died in Paris, TX on October 29, 2009. Joan Gallant was born March 30, 1927 in Bristol, England, the daughter of Reginald Thomas and Blanche (Pike) Poole. She had lived in the Soper area for the past 62 years after moving here from Bristol, England in 1947.

She married Josh Gallant on January 19, 1947 in DeQueen, Arkansas. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting and worked part-time as a private home health nurse. Joan was a member of the Choctaw Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters; baby girl Gallant.

Joan is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Tommy Gallant and wife Cindy of Paris, TX; one brother: Fred Poole of Bristol England; four grandchildren: Justin Gallant, Joe Flannery, and Josh Flannery all of Paris, TX, and Johnna Hinsley of Soper, OK; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Hommer and Edna Gallant of Soper, OK; special friends Ellen and Charles Trapp of Soper, OK; and Kathy Howard of Paris, TX.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
