Jerry D. Fite, 69, of Achille, OK, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his home after complications from back surgery in June. He was born July 31, 1943 in Yantis, TX, the son of J.W. "Pete" Fite and Ida Bell (Patridge) Fite. Jerry married the love of his life, Kay McCleary on February 11, 1975 in Durant, OK. He enjoyed his wife taking him for drives and going shopping where he could ride on the scooters.

He was still full of life even though he was not able to walk. He enjoyed the outdoors where he could ride his scooter as well as fish, build and remodel things. He looked forward to OT & PT at WNJ in Sherman, TX. He was preparing to have a Neurostimulation inserted in his back within two weeks to relieve chronic pain and hope to be able to walk.

Before his health forced him into retirement he worked with his son in Heating & AC. He also worked for Tom Thumb Grocery Stores, Brown, Moore & Flint Food Brokerage Co. and Britton Wholesale Grocers as a Sales Rep. Jerry attended Sulphur Springs High School in Sulphur Springs, TX. He enjoyed showing his lamb and working cattle with the FFA. Jerry was Non-Denominational and a member of H.O.P.E Ministries in Luella, TX. He attended the Yarnaby Assembly of God in Yarnaby , Oklahoma.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, J.W. "Pete" Fite and a brother, Tony Fite.

Survivors Include: wife, Kay Fite of Achille, OK; three sons, Carl Fite of Atoka, OK, Michael Fite, Sr. of Durant, OK and Richard Fite of Mesquite, TX; five grandchildren, Katelynn Fite, Danielle Fite, Kelsey Fite, Michael Fite, Jr. and Cody Fite; great grandchild, Conner Fite; mother, Ida Bell Fite of Sulphur Springs, TX; brother, Paul Fite of Gilmer, TX; sister, Karen Stephens of Kemp, TX; special friend, Rodger Brack of Sherman, TX along with a host of other family and friends. Jerry, you were the greatest husband and dad. We know you are walking and dancing in heaven and watching over us. You were our rock and your memories will always be with us. "We love you."

Visitation: The family will receive friends Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: Place: Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Date: Saturday -October 20, 2012 Hour: 10:00 a.m. Officiating: Bro. Rick Ring. Interment: Soper Cemetery -Soper, OK.

Pallbearers: Jon Paul Bozeman, Joe Johnson, Bailey Johnson, Barry Allen, Lynn Chambers and George Lewallen.

Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Fite and Rodger Brack.
