Graveside services for Marshall "Old Man" Allen will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Soper Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Bennie Hammons officiating and burial following in Soper Cemetery in Soper, Oklahoma.

Marshall Allen died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at his home North of Sawyer, Oklahoma at the age of 82. Marshall Allen was born May 2, 1927 in Temple, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Earl and Onie (Pike) Allen. He had lived in this area most all his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Seaman 2nd Class, and stayed enlisted in the U.S. National Guard for a number of years after the war.

Marshall married Elizabeth Carnes in 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they worked as truck drivers hauling with the Willie Shaw Express, Stanley Trucking, and Frozen Food Express across this country for many years.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Elizabeth Allen in 1997; one son: Raymond Allen; one brother, Archie Allen.

Marshall is survived by three sons: Travis Allen of Sawyer, OK, Steve Allen of Hewitt, TX and Robert Augusta Allen of Hugo, OK; two daughters: Marsha Dale Adams of Owassa, OK and Ruby Earlene Creasey of Powderly, TX; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marshall is survived by numerous friends and acquaintances since he never met a stranger.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 6-7 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
