Graveside services for Mildred Juanita Daniel will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Sawyer Cemetery with Casual Bruton officiating.

Mildred Juanita Daniel, of Sawyer, OK, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 in Del City, OK at the age of 84. Mildred Juanita Daniel was born July 7, 1924 in Cache, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jim and Emma (Orum) Hockersmith. She had lived in this area over 40 years. She married Oscar Daniel on July 24, 1946 in DeQueen, AR. Mildred was a homemaker at heart but she did work as a welder in the ship yards during World War II, and worked forty plus years in food service. She loved to garden and was well known for her large gardens as she was always generous in giving the produce and canned goods to her neighbors and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Oscar; one daughter: Darla (Daniel) Merritt; one sister: Elda Mae Stokley; two grandchildren: Randy George Brown and TammyJo Daniel.

Mildred is survived by two sons: Larry Deaton Daniel and special friend Teresa of Del City, OK, Alan Dwayne Daniel and wife Grace of Wichita, KS; two daughters: Jimmie Dale Brown of Del City, OK, Sylvia Jo Young and husband Carroll of Del City, OK; one brother: Bennie Hockersmith of Alvin, TX; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
