Graveside services for Bessie Lee Morris will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Cemetery with Rev. Eugene Ledford officiating and burial following.

Bessie passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 95. Bessie Lee Morris, fondly known as Jackie, was born July 21, 1916, in Soper, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Smith) Bryan. She moved to Potwin, KS in 1939 and lived there a few years before returning to Boswell. In 1944 she moved to Peabody, KS and worked as a medication aid until her retirement in 1981 when she moved back to Boswell, OK. She helped raise four of her grandchildren and babysat. She was a member of the Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday School and lead the church choir. She enjoyed baking, cooking, jarring jelly, and making wedding cakes as ordered. Bessie collected animated stuffed animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Morris in Dec 1988; two sons, Thomas Morris and Ronald Morris; one daughter, Dorothy Louise Morris; three sisters and three brothers.

Bessie is survived by three sons, James Morris of Newton, KS, Sam Morris of Boswell, OK and Frank Woodruff of Peabody, KS; two daughters, Virginia Pariseau of Fairfield, CA and Sandie Skinner of Westport, TN; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter.
