Funeral services for Katie Lee Woodlee will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo, OK with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK with Bro. Brian Everett officiating. Katie passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Paris, TX at the age of 96.
Katie was born on June 7, 1916 in Abbott, TX, the daughter of Sidney and Ella (Butler) Barnett. She married Parker Lyle Woodlee on November 26, 1931 in Dallas, TX. She had lived in this area most of her life before moving to Paris, TX and Honey Grove, TX to live with her family. She attended Telephone Baptist Church, Ft. Towson Baptist Church in Ft. Towson, OK and Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo, OK. Katie had worked and retired as a finisher for the Mostek, Company. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and her family. Everyone loved her and she will be greatly missed. We know we will all meet again and enjoy Amazing Grace together in heaven one day.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Parker Lyle Woodlee; sister, Sarah Jackson, grandson, Gary Woodlee, granddaughter, Tina Woodlee Mote and daughter-in-law, Marcella Woodlee.
Katie is survived by five children, Lloyd Woodlee, Jerry Woodlee, Don Woodlee, Bill Woodlee, Sherry Sims and spouses; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
