Memorial services for Betty Vandiver will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK, with Rev. Phil Beatty officiating. Betty went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2012, in Hugo, OK, at the age of 89. Betty Ethel Vandiver was born November 1, 1922, in Yukon, OK, the daughter of Horace Herman Park and Etta Jane (Howell) Park.

She married Grady Roe Vandiver 1942 in Claremore, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the Antlers Methodist Church and the Eastern Star in Antlers OK. Betty lived on a ranch near Antlers, OK for many years helping outdoors. After her husband’s death she moved to Atoka and later Hugo where she has lived for several years. She sold Shakley Product in Atoka and Hugo before opening Nature’s Best Healthfood Store in Hugo. Betty enjoyed camping and the outdoors, taking drives in the fall to the mountains. She enjoyed playing with her pet dog, Marmaduke, a Great Dane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Grady Roe Vandiver in 1973 and two sisters.

Betty is survived by her husband, Arby Minchew of Hugo, OK; one son, Grady R. Vandiver Jr. and wife Juanita of Sand Springs, OK; one granddaughter, Melissa Weaver and husband, Tim of Sand Spring, OK; one great-granddaughter, Shelby Weaver of Sand springs, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
