Memorial services for Ruthie Lois Sheltonwere held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Christian Life Outreach MinistriesChurch with Pastor Carolyn Hicks officiating.

Ruthie Lois Shelton was born November 23, 1941 in Trinity, TX, the daughter of George E. and Terressa Lee (Groom) Drumgo. She had live in this area since 2005 after moving here from LA. She married Ernest W. Shelton February 14, 1999, Braithwaite, LA. She worked as a nurse in surrounding hospitals and nursing homes. Preceded in death by her parents; one son: Fred Burkes Jr.

Ruthie is survived by her husband: Ernest of the home; son: Ron Burkes and wife Marie of Longview, TX; daughter – law: Tisha Burkes of Tyler, TX; sisters: Ersie Lee of San Jose, CA, Stella Tyson and Essie Mae Drumgo of Houston; brothers: Curtis Drumgo , Roy Drumgo and Rossie Drumgo all of Houston TX ; one grandson: Terrance Burkes of Kilgore, TX and one granddaughter: Koree Burkes of Oklahoma City, OK sisters-in-law: Hannah Dangerfield, Sherrie Carlisle-Booker, Michelle Shelton, Christina Bean all of Hugo, OK, Gracie Carter of Paris, TX, Angela Pyles of Lawton, OK and Lillian Shelton of Dallas, TX.
