A memorial service for Jason D. Marsh will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Jason passed away Thurs., Aug. 4th, 2011 at the age of 34. Born Dec. 15, 1976 in Oklahoma City, Jason graduated from high school in Mena, Arkansas. He worked for Taylor Communication installing and maintaining cell phone towers and also worked in the family business for a time, driving a wrecker.

On Dec. 28th, 2002, Jason and Samantha Hefner married and made their home in Chelsea. Jason went to work for Hoffmeier Trucking in Tulsa. Jason and Samantha became the devoted parents to two beautiful daughters of whom he was incredibly proud. He never failed to bring back souvenirs for them when long trips took him away from home. Cooking and grilling and sharing his culinary creations were Jason’s hobbies. He made his own sauces and spice combinations for grilling and smoking, even tending the smoker through the night to ensure perfection. A wonderful father, husband, son and friend, Jason left his family with many happy memories.

Those who survive include his wife, Samantha, of their home in Chelsea; his daughters, Emmalynne and Addyson, also of the home; his parents, Debbie Brainerd of Tulsa, Willie Brainerd of Mounds and Jim Stanford of Wister; his brothers, Kevin Marsh of Glenpool, Billy Marsh of Soper, and Jacob Marsh of Wilburton; his grandpa, Bill Marsh of Soper, OK; and three nieces, Shelby, Megan and Herminie.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Ply.
