Wilda (Langford) Kellogg

Funeral services for Wilda Kellogg will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church with Pastor Burgie Thompson officiating and burial following in the Red Hill Cemetery.

Wilda went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, in Powderly, Texas, at the age of 87. Wilda Catherine Kellogg was born May 31, 1925, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of George William and Lily (Kraft) Langford. She married Dallas "Zip" Kellogg on September 24, 1942, in Reno, Nevada and recently celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary. Zip had a nickname for everyone and fondly called his loving wife, "Bones". They lived together in California for many years, visiting back and forth, while performing with family. She and Zip moved to Cooper, TX in 1992 and lived there until 1999 when they moved up to Powderly, TX to be near family. Wilda was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Rebecca's Lodge while she was in CA. Wilda was a widely known for her voice and singing as well as being a musician all her life. Music was also a big part of her life while she was in CA, performing and recording. She was very talented and played the piano, organ, accordion, and guitar. Wilda had played for the "Mulberry Creek Band" and for charities. She also was an artist, specializing in pencil drawings, and a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Wilda is survived by her husband, Dallas "Zip" Kellogg of the home; one son, Danny Kellogg of Fresno, CA; one daughter, Sher Thompson and husband, Burgie of Powderly, TX; Grandchildren, Daniel Kellogg of Sanger, TX; Diana Kellogg Garcia and husband , Leo of Sacramento, CA, Wyndi Thompson Hall and husband, David of Paris, TX, and Staci Thompson Scott of Weatherford, TX; great-grandchildren, Karlee Hall, Kynzi Hall, Kamren Hall all of Paris, TX, Elijah Garcia of Sacramento, CA, Blake Scott and Koby Scott both of Weatherford, TX.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2012, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
