Funeral services for Elsie Helen Jordan will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Helen Baker and Rev. Gwen Dill officiating and burial following in California.

Mrs. Jordan died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in Antlers, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Elsie Helen Jordan was born December 13, 1919 in Powderly, Texas, the daughter of Marshall Holly and Ethel (Whitlock) Ray. She was raised in this area, married Marvin Jordan, and moved with her husband to Boron, California where she worked as a cook for the Public School System. Elsie and her husband were married for 65 years before he passed away and she returned back to this area in 1993. Elsie was a member of the Pentecostal Church where she enjoyed doing volunteer work and teaching Sunday school. She loved to quilt, crotchet, and spoil her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Marshall Ray, Melvin Ray; three sisters: Opal Post, Ruth Crowley, and Eulah McKee.

Elsie is survived by her children: Clark & Janice Jordan of Farris, OK, Betty & Bill Stogner of Redding, CA, Gary & Reba Jordan of Boron, CA, Patsy Caillier of Las Vegas, NV; special sons: Robert Cailler and Sam Fisher; special cousin-sister Arbelia Thompson; special sister-in-law: Emma Jordan; brother & sister-in-law: Frank & Sonya Ray; sisters: Mamie Lee Bruce, Willa Mae Orta, Beulah Herman; eight grandchildren: Kenneth & Thomas Jordan, Joey & Joel Owens, Gene & Nicole Jordan, Deanne & Chasen Fisher; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

The family requests that donations be made in her memory to The Church of God in Boswell.
