Memorial services for Bessie Lee (Meadows) Howell will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013, in the Nelson Cowboy Church with Pastor Larry Minchey officiating. Bessie passed from this life on Thursday, August 22, 2013, in Soper, OK at the age of 69.

Bessie Lee (Meadows) Howell was born on August 3, 1944, in Hugo, OK the daughter of Remus "Bud"¯ and Maggie LaVeta (Murray) Meadows. Bessie had lived in various places in Indiana and Kentucky before moving back to this area in 2001. She married Terry Lee "Tex"¯ Howell on May 26, 2012 in the Nelson Cowboy Church in Soper, OK. Bessie worked as a R.N. Case Manager, Regional Director Div. I for Mayā€™s Plus Home Health Care. She was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxilary and enjoyed camping, horseback riding, reading, watching movies and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bessie is survived by husband, Terry Lee “Tex” ¯ Howell; children, Eric Mackey, Amber Alverson, Cole Howell and wife Maria, Cassie Axsom, Nick Howell and Tammy, and Jeff Nunn; grandchildren, Bethany, Cody, Jesika, Pati, Mark, Luke, Brandon, Ryan, Cierra, and Jordon; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Ayianna and Brayden; siblings, David, Patty (deceased), Dee, Camille, Sue, Vickie and Robin; aunt and uncle, Dortha and Clair Bursuch; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family requests that donations be made in honor of Bessie Lee (Meadows) Howell to the St. Judes Children’s Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas PI, Memphis, TN 38105. Family and friends are also invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com
