Funeral services for Jan Hibben will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Young officiating.

Jan passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, in Burleson, Texas, at the age of 81.

Jan Hibben was born January 27, 1930, in Farwell, Texas, the daughter of Vernon and Beatrice (Herington) Vinson. She lived in Muleshoe, TX as a child then moved to Ft. Worth, TX where she worked in the Radio and T.V. industry for 20 plus years at WBAP. Jan lived in Hugo from 1975-2000 during that time she worked as a secretary at Coffey Funeral Home then Lampton, Mills, & Coffey Funeral Home from 1985-1988 and Hotel Manager at the Carriage House. She moved to Burleson, TX and volunteered at the hospital for 10 years. Jan loved God and it showed in her heart of serving; she worked with the youth at her church many years and taught Sunday school. Jan loved everybody and always had a smile on her face and a word of encouragement. She also enjoyed music and singing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken Hibben Sr.; one sister, Blanche Edwards.

Jan is survived by two sons, Ken Hibben and wife Dawn of Hugo, OK, George Hibben and wife Darlene of Cleveland, TN; one daughter, Lynn Hibben of Hugo, OK; three brothers, Pat Vinson, John Vinson, Bob Vinson; three sisters, Mary Thomas, Cora Jessen, Dorothy Schumacher; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
