Alvin Franklin Crane, age 72, of Hugo, died Sunday, February 8, 2009. He was born May 15, 1936 in Ada, OK, the son of Kenneth and Carrie (Logan) Crane. Alvin had moved back to Hugo 6 years ago to take care of his mother.

He married his first wife, Shirly Choat on March 8, 1957 and later married Evelyn Crane on July 16, 1975. He had worked in the oil fields for 45 years in Perryton, TX as a rig operator. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially rabbits, and being with his family, especially his brothers and children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Evelyn Crane; one son: Alvin Wayne Crane; 2 step-daughters: Debbie Long and Kathy Marshall and one great-grandchild, Chassity Renee Dingman.

Alvin is survived by his brothers: Harlin Crane and his wife, Doris of Allen, TX, Charles Crane and his wife, Sue of Ft. Towson, OK, Robert Crane and wife, Linda and Larry Crane and wife, Betty all of Plano, TX; his first wife, Shirley Choat of Idabel, OK; two sons: Kenneth Crane and wife, Darla of Idabel, OK and Kerry Crane and wife, Gena of Abilene, TX; three step-sons: William Forehand of Perryton, TX, Jessie Castleberry and wife, Shelly of Perryton, TX and Ricky Castleberry and wife, Beverly of Inman, KS; two daughters: Becky Gonzales and husband, Frank of Perryton, TX and Karisu Crane of Idabel, OK; three step-daughters: Paula Holt and husband, James of Trent, TX, Sammie Castleberry of Abline, TX and Glenda Bohn and husband, Dewayne of Quanah, TX; eleven grandchildren; fifteen step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; twelve step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Alvin’s life will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.at the Ochiltree County Cemetery in Perryton, TX.
