Graveside services for Irene Blagg will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Chapel Cemetery in Chicota, TX with Buck Wade officiating and burial following. Irene passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 in Hugo, Oklahoma at the age of 92.

Irene Blagg was born November 28, 1917 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Joe and Rosie (Graves) Pierce. She married Bart Blagg in 1937 in Chicota, Texas and was a member of Chicota Baptist Church. They moved to the Hugo area about 35 years ago from Clarksville, Texas. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family and all of her grandchildren. She would lend a helping hand to anyone and was called “Grandma”¯ by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bart Blagg on July 9, 1991; seven children: Zelma Altenbaumer, Roy Blagg, Charlene White, Dewayne Blagg, Jeanie Blagg, Mary Lou Blagg, Barbara Jean Blagg.

Irene is survived by eleven children: Johnny Blagg of Sawyer, Ok; Charles Blagg of Sasakwa, OK; Velma McKibben of Quinton, OK; James Blagg and wife, Mary of Guymon, OK; Jodie Loveless and husband, Scott of Sylvan, TX; Julie Wiegartz and husband, Bill of Enterprise, OK; Virgil Blagg and wife, Gail; Eugene Blagg; Damon Blagg and wife, Donna all of Sawyer, OK; Patsy Gibson of Antlers, OK; Reba Batchelor of MS; 57 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel.
