Funeral services for Willard Wagnon, fondly known as Bill, will be held on Monday 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel, with Pastor Doug McClure officiating and burial following in the Grant Cemetery in Grant, OK. Willard passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in Hugo, OK, at the age of 74.
Willard Marvin Wagnon was born June 20, 1937, in Quinton, Oklahoma, the son of John Eldon and Johnnie (Devore) Wagnon. He lived in Hugo since 1974, previously moving from Quinton, OK. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a Radio Operator, United States Air Force Reserve and United States Navy Reserve as a Radar Instructor and the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He also worked for the Military in Viet Nam. Willard worked as a Psychometrist in the Education field. Between 1990 and 2003, he was employed for the State Department of Education, Rattan Public Schools for one year, and Hugo, Idabel, and Valliant from 2004 to 2011. He has a Masters of Education Degree, and a Master of Behavioral Studies Degree. He was a member of three professional fraternities. Willard also achieved the certification as a Commercial Pilot in 1970. In 1966 he acted and directed plays in High School and College level. Willard sang and recorded as a folk singer in 1965. Willard enjoyed all his friends at Angie's Circus City Diner, and all his pets and animals. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Wagnon.
Willard is survived by his life-long companion, Laura Kay Frazier; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Wagnon of Krebs, OK, Bobby Don Wagnon of Pryor, OK; one uncle, George E. Wagnon of Quinton, OK; one aunt, Freda Shuetz of Oklahoma City, OK; three sons, Brian Kirk Frazier of Grant, OK, Felton Blake Collins of New Orleans, LA, John Ben and wife Bing Frazier of Loma Linda, CA; granddaughters, Alexa Kay Frazier and Sarah Arrogante both of Loma Linda, CA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, 2011, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
