Velma Joyce (Riggs) Roebuck

Funeral services for Joyce Roebuck will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel, with William St. John and Ewell Byrd officiating, and burial following in the Goodland Cemetery. Joyce passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 79.

Velma Joyce Roebuck was born January 22, 1934 in Decatur, Texas, the daughter of Jess and Minnie Bell (Tidwell) Riggs. Joyce married Sam Roebuck on July 2, 1952, in Ft. Worth, Texas. She and her husband lived in many States as he served in the Air Force before his retirement. They moved back to this area in 1975. Joyce was a member of the Paris Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Roebuck; and her granddaughter, Lindsey Mericle.

Joyce is survived by her children, Cynthia Decker and husband Warren of Albuquerque, NM, Candi Mericle and husband Greg of Medical Lake, WA, Melani Finch and husband Eddie of Goodland, OK, Bruce Roebuck and wife Tanya of Soper, OK; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Pete Riggs of Texas; one sister, Frankie Herman of Soper, OK; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 18, 2013, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
