Graveside services for Carlos Ray Boykin will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Goodland Cemetery with Rev. George Ferguson officiating and burial following in the Goodland Cemetery.

Carlos passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 67. Carlos was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Antlers, to Charly Burl “Jack”¯ Boykin and Lucy Vinita McFarlin Boykin. When he was in the sixth grade, the family moved to Hugo, where he graduated from high school in 1964. He married Jayne Brown of Hugo on Dec. 19, 1964. Carlos served in the U.S. Army from February of 1966 to December of 1967, including a tour of duty in Thailand. After his military service, the couple established a home in Lawton, where they welcomed a daughter, Lara LeAnne, in 1970. He graduated from Lawton Barber College, then began a career with the G.F. Wacker variety store chain, eventually managing three stores in Lawton, and one each in Houston and Wichita Falls, Texas. The Wacker Company was later bought out by Winn’s, and he continued as manager of the Wichita Falls store until 1984, when he and Jayne were divorced and he returned to Hugo. He was a former member of Central Baptist Church, near Marlow.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jack and Lara Tipton, and their sons, Reid and Grant, of Lawton; his former wife of Duncan; a brother, Richard, and a sister, Kay; and numerous members of his extended family in the Hugo area.
