Billie Ruth (Irvin) Cogburn

Billie Ruth Cogburn was born January 19, 1933, in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, to William B. and Mary Ruth (Burkett) Irvin. She passed from this life on November 6, 2013, in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 80.

She was a former board member for 13th Place Apartments, loved to crochet, do crossword puzzles, an avid sports fan and enjoyed doing for others.

Billie worked as a typesetter for the Hugo Daily News in Hugo, OK, Daily Oklahoman Newspaper in Oklahoma City, OK, Antlers American in Antlers, OK and the Sherman Democrat in Sherman, TX.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents: William and Mary Ruth Irvin; two brothers: Frank Irvin (Hugo, Oklahoma) and Charles "Drake" Irvin (Cooper, Texas).

She is survived by: Two Sons: James Cogburn of Cooper, Texas and Bill Cogburn of Hugo, Oklahoma One Daughter: Renea (Cogburn) Rutledge and husband Craig of Mt. Pleasant, Texas One Sister: Norma Ashley of Hugo, Oklahoma Three grandchildren: Charles Preas, Robert Preas and Jamie Cogburn Numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Special friends include the nurses at Aspire Hospice, Cypress Home Health and "Lisa" her respiratory therapist at Choctaw Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 ~ Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel Officiating: Reverend Doug McClure Music: "Amazing Grace" ~ "Old Rugged Cross" ~ "Rest High On That Mountain".

Pallbearers: Charles Preas ~ Robert Preas ~ Ken Cooper ~ Jim White ~ Floyd Coffee ~ Jeff Hill

Interment: Ft. Towson Cemetery ~ Ft. Towson, Oklahoma
