Claremore, OK – Funeral services for Mary SueAnn (Harvey) Hanson, age 80, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Q.L. Bell will preside. Interment will follow services at the Towie Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the care of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Mary SueAnn (Harvey) Hanson was born in Hominy, OK on October 5, 1928, the daughter of Luther Daniel Harvey, Jr. and Susie (Towie) Harvey. Mary had two daughters, Linda and Celeste. She had been married to Henry "Sarge" Hanson for twelve years when she was widowed.

Mary was a proud member of both the Osage and Cherokee Nations. She was a skilled artisan who enjoyed working in ceramics, needlework and beadwork, as well as other arts and crafts. She had spent her youth and her early adulthood in Osage County with her Harvey cousins as her best friends. She still spoke of them when she was ill and wanted to talk about her younger life.

Mary was known for her rich sense of humor, and her love of life on a day to day level. She always said to not carry "baggage" into the next day.

Mary SueAnn Hanson passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Claremore, OK. She was 80 years old at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Henry Hanson, and by her oldest daughter, Linda Lower.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Celeste Thornton Tillery and husband Terry Tillery of Claremore, OK; by two grandchildren, Michael Tillery of Vinita, OK and Jason Tillery of Tulsa, OK; as well as many other family members, friends, and loved ones.
