Virginia Bryan Stinnett

Virginia Bryan Stinnett, 82, of Hulbert, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at her home in Hulbert.

Graveside services for Virginia will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at the Tahlequah City Cemetery, with Pastor Bobby Botts officiating. Visitation for will be Thursday from noon until 8 p.m., at Reed Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Virginia will be her grandsons, Scot McCoy, Jared Evans, Seth Stinnett, Micah Stinnett and Cade McCoy.

Virginia was born May 24, 1930, in Bear Creek, Ark., the daughter of Noble and Jessie (Yancey) Bryan. She attended grade school in the community of Punkin Flat. The family moved to Oakland, Calif., in 1941, and in 1945, moved to the community of Standing Rock at Lake Tenkiller.

Virginia attended Tahlequah Schools and married Leo Stinnett on Feb. 21, 1951, at Bentonville, Ark. She was employed at Cookies Famous Restaurant in Tahlequah for close to 20 years, and helped Leo with their cow/calf and horse operation west of Tahlequah.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Verlene Lamons.

She is survived by her husband Leo of 61 years; sons, Steve and wife Carol, and Jay and wife Margie; four grandchildren, Marissa and Scot McCoy of Hulbert, Jayme and Jared Evans of Ponca City, Seth and Danette Stinnett, and Micah and Cassi Stinnett, all of Grove; six great-grandchildren, Cade and Carsen McCoy, Creedon and Bristol Evans, Channing Stinnett, and number six due in April, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
