TAHLEQUAH — Services for Dakota Stark, 21, of Tahlequah were held Saturday, Sept. 3, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel.

Officiating was Brother Clarence Brinkley. Serving as pallbearers were Anthony Carney, Michael Carney, Kenneth Tallent, Chad Johnson, Brendon Clark, Brian Stark, and Kevin Withwor. Interment followed in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Dakota was born Oct. 12, 1989, in McAlester, to Daniel Stark and Texie (Boyd) Stark. He passed away on Sept. 1, 2011, in Oklahoma City.

Dakota grew up in the McAlester area where he was active in baseball and FFA. He was an eighth-grade graduate of Hayward School and 2008 high school graduate of Stuart High. Dakota was a member of Hayward Baptist Church and had attended Eastern State College in Wilburton.

He has been preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mac Boyd.

Dakota is survived by his father, Daniel Stark, of Tahlequah; mother, Texie Johnson, of McAlester; children Lukasz and Lakota Stark of McAlester; paternal grandparents Jerry and Linda Stark of Tahlequah; maternal grandmother, Pat Boyd of Krebs; aunts and uncles David and Marissa Stark of McAlester, Cheryll and Ken Tallent of Hartshorne, Hope and David Hendrix of Hartshorne, and Helen Humphries of Krebs; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Patrick and Chris Tinker, Brianna and Chris Harris, Angie Horn and Ryan Hull, Michael Carney, Anthony Carney, Jessie Carney, Lance Bookout, and Garrett Carney; as well as many other relative, friends, and loved ones.
