TAHLEQUAH — Services for Walter Lee Scroggins, 23, of Tahlequah, will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, at the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah. Officiating will be Rev. Buddy Hunt.

Pallbearers are Bryan Poppino, Michael Crossno, Dickie Scroggins, Thomas Scroggins, Ryan Scroggins and James Scroggins. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Haddock, James Scroggins Jr., Robert West, Dean Boston, Randy Boston and Scott Marcinkevicius. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.

Walter Scroggins was born May 9, 1988, in Tahlequah, to Dickie and Lora (Boston) Scroggins. He passed July 14, 2011, in Tulsa.

Walter lived his life in Cherokee County, attending local schools and playing football. He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his children. He loved to hunt, fish, watch wrestling on TV, and was a Pittsburg Steelers fan.

Walter had worked for Love Bottling and attended First Baptist Church of Tahlequah.

He has been preceded in death by his grandpa Junior "Dickie" Scroggins; and his aunt Cornelia Pruitt.

Walter is survived by his wife, Chandra, and children Jason Scroggins and Acelynn Scroggins, all of the home; parents, Dickie and Lora Scroggins of Peggs; a sister, Pamela and husband Bryan Poppino of Welling; brothers, Thomas Scroggins of Peggs, and Ryan Scroggins and wife Robin of Welling; maternal grandparents, Richard and Christine Boston; paternal grandmother, Charlene Scroggins; nieces and nephews, DJ Perry, Devin Poppino, Jordain Poppino, Ebonie Poppino, Emma Poppino, Colin Scroggins, and Bryan Lee Scroggins; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones also survive him.
