Jim Raymond Justice

Funeral services for Jim Raymond Justice will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Don Varble and Brother Ron Neal officiating.

Interment will follow services at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Jim R. Justice, age 87, died at home on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 17, 1920 to the late Walter and Freddie Justice. Jim seved in the United States Army during World War II in the Asian Theatre, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served the Oklahoma Army National Guard during the Korean War. After the war, Jim completed his education with a master's degree at Northeastern State Univerisity.

On September 17, 1945, Jim married Lois June Simpkins and was happily married to his best friend for 62 years. They were blessed with five wonderful children who were Jim's greatest trophies.

Jim was a member of the local Purple Heart organization number 641 and remained active until the time of his illness. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and of Park Hill Baptist Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother; Arthur Justice, and his sisters; Lillian Cox, Mildred Ketcher and Jean Glass. Survivors include Jim's wife, Lois, his sons; Jim Justice Jr., Ron Justice and wife Nita, and Larry Justice and fiancee Christian, his daughters; Barbara Neal and Beverly Miner and her husband Gary. He is survived by his precious twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and an untold number of friends.

The Justice family would like to thank all the staff of Cherokee Nation Home Health and Cherokee Nation Hospice for their help and support during Jim's illness; you were always very kind to all of us.
