TAHLEQUAH — Services for Goldie Lucille (Bohanan) Jones, 87, of Tahlequah, will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastors Tim Keeling and Steve Carr.

Serving as pallbearers are Tommie Heaton, Mike Heaton, Steven Jones, Chris Spencer, Bucky Newton and Dub Sossamon.

Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.tahlequahfuneral.com.

Goldie Jones was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Hector, Pope County, Ark., to Monroe and Lillie (Sanders) Bohanan. She passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, in Tahlequah.

Goldie met Edgar L. Jones in Stockton, Calif., where they were employed at the shipyards. They were wed on April 1, 1945. She was widowed at Edgar's passing in 2009.

Goldie worked as secretary for Synergy Gas, as well as other gas companies, retiring from Synergy in 1988. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and loved caring for her grandchildren. A faithful person, she attended Double Springs Church of God for 65 years.

Goldie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Jewel Bohanan, Versie Millsaps, and Jim Bohanan.

Goldie is survived by her children, E.W. Jones and wife Joyce, and Gail Heaton and husband Tommie, all of Tahlequah; three grandchildren, Michelle Spencer and husband Chris of Fort Gibson, Steven Ray Jones of Tahlequah, and Mike Heaton of Tahlequah; seven great-grandchildren Cassidy, Garrett and Jake Spencer of Fort Gibson, Jeremy Jones, Emily Thompson, Skyler Heaton, and Blayne Heaton, all of Tahlequah; two sisters, Rosie "Mutt" Tripp and husband Harold of Hector, Ark., and Mary Jean Church of Elk Grove, Calif.; as well as other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
