TAHLEQUAH — Services for Robert Samuel Johnson will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m., at the Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Pallbearers for Bob include Jason Kelley, David Johnson, Eulan Pack, Virgil Pitts, Reuben Talley, and Joe Dale Keys.

Robert Sameul Johnson, or Bob to his many friends, was born on Aug. 6, 1929, in Tahlequah, the son of William Robert and Sabra Caroline (Ward) Johnson.

He attended public school in Tahlequah and graduated from Bagley High School.

On Christmas Day in 1947, he married the love of his life, Mary F. Sparks. Together they raised three children and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Bob owned and operated Bob Johnson and Sons Plumbing and Heating in Tahlequah.

When he wasn't working, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved raising cattle, vegetable gardens, and watching westerns on TV.

Bob liked to keep life simple, so he kept busy and enjoyed his families company every chance he got.

A Baptist by faith, Bob was called home to his Lord and savior on Friday, Sept. 16, in his home with his loved ones by his side. Bob was 82 years old. He will be missed by his many family and friends he has made over the years in Tahlequah.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Edward, Clinton Coleman and William Theodore "Ted" Johnson; and one sister, Ella Mae McKee.

Those who keep his memory include his wife, Mary Johnson of the home in Tahlequah, as well as three children, Shirley J. Munson and husband Edward of Minnesota, Robert Coleman Johnson and wife Robin of Tahlequah, and William Russell Johnson also of Tahlequah.

His legacy lives on in his five grandchildren, Jason Scott Kelley and wife Sharnna, Denise M. Weaver and husband Matthew, David C. Johnson and wife Kristin, Amanda N. Johnson, and Jessica L. Johnson. He leaves four great-grandchildren, Tyler Kelley, Kayden Kelley, Cage Garrett and Mekko Lowe, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
