TAHLEQUAH — TAHLEQUAH – Services for Callie Davis, 85, of Tahlequah, will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m., in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Kenny Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at tahlequahfuneral.com.

Pallbearers will be Chad Davis, Rhett Davis, Reese Davis, Joseph Phillips, Michael Phillips and Dan Pablo.

Callie was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Park Hill, the daughter of James A. and Mary (Hilton) Monholland. She passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, in Tulsa.

A very loving and caring person, Callie grew up in Cherokee County, where she attended Park Hill and other county schools. Following high school graduation, she attended Northeastern College for two years. She then taught school in Prue, before marrying Leslie Davis in 1948.

They settled at the foot of Park Hill Mountain, where she has lived for 63 years. There, she worked as a homemaker and wife of a cattle rancher. Callie also worked as a cook at Park Hill School.

In 1967, she began working at the Community Action Head Start program, where she taught pre-schoolers. She retired in 1988.

Callie has been a longtime member of Keys Church of Christ, and was the last surviving charter member of the current location.

She has been preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; parents; brothers, Louie and Troy Monholland; and grand-daughter, Shelia Ann Davis.

Callie is survived by children, Jerry Davis and wife Velma of Tahlequah, Gary Davis and wife Renda of Keys, and Peggy Phillips and husband Joe of Talahina; grandchildren, Chad Davis and wife Casey, Traci Pablo and husband Dan, Randy Collins and wife Michelle, Vonnie Taylor, Rhett Davis, Reese Davis, Joseph Phillips and wife Kendra, and Michael Phillips and wife Rachel; great-grandchildren, Nealie Ferrell, Thomas Pablo, Seth Taylor, Crystal Dodd, Brianna, Mariah and Kendall Collins; Kristen, Alexandria, Troy and Tory Phillips; great-great-granddaughter, Kiera Dodd; sister, Flo Klecka; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Keys Church of Christ.
