Delores (Sally) Manus-Cook

Delores “Sally” Manus-Cook, 59, a retired administrative secretary for the Cherokee Nation, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in Tulsa, with her family by her side. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m., at the Reed Culver Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Manus Cemetery in Tahlequah.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Reed Culver Funeral Home.

Sally was born on March 21, 1953, in Tahlequah, the daughter of John and Helen (Blakley) Manus. Sally grew up in the Tahlequah area and attended Tahlequah High School. She then went on to attend Northeastern State University.

Sally worked for the Cherokee Nation, where she retired after 10 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sally also enjoyed the casinos and just taking time to relax. She also loved the company of her friends and family and growing flowers and tomatoes.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Rohman; brother, Ronald Manus; an adopted sister, Judy Blakely; and an adopted brother, Rob Blakely.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Katie Bush and her fiancé James Gentry; her son, Scott Cook and his fiancé Jenee; three grandchildren, Brittney Bush, Kabrina Bush and Tucker Cook of Tahlequah; a long time companion, Tim Cook of Hulbert; three brothers, Harvey Manus and his wife Annette of Kennewick, Wash., David Manus and his wife Angela of Braggs, and Richard “Dickie” Manus and his wife Lisa of Belleville, Kan.; two adopted brothers, one adopted sister, one adopted mother, several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
