Olen Ray Scott, son of Olen T. and Alice Marie (York) Scott was born October 27, 1943 in the Hungry Mountain community and departed this life to be with our Lord on October 5, 2009 in Welling, Ok at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Ray worked as a printer for the Business Control Printing Company for many years. He also worked for the Cherokee County Commissioners. He loved hunting, fishing and his dog “Boss”. He loved his wife Debbie, spending time with family and friends and would love it when friends would come to visit him. Ray was always willing to help anyone in need.

One of the most significant times in Ray's life was September 13, 2009 when he came to know the lord as his personal savior at Hungry Mountain Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Olen T. and Alice Scott, his first wife; Sandra Dandridge Scott, Daughter; Tonya Sanders, Son; Randy Scott, Grandson; Justin Scott, and his in laws; Homer and Myrtle Fuson.

Ray is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of the home in Welling, Ok; Debra Scott, 2 sons; Ricky Scott and wife Sherry of Muskogee, Ok, Jason Hampton and wife Jennifer of Stilwell, Ok, 1 Daughter; Tammy Scott and husband James of Welling, Ok, 1 brother; Earl Scott and wife Linda of Welling, Ok, 1 sister; Betty Christie and husband Bob of Welling, Ok. 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several other relatives and many friends also survive him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kevin Davis and Bro. Charles Duvall officiating. Interment followed in Hungry Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
