TAHLEQUAH - Wynona "Nonie" Sue Hayes Gritts passed from this life Thursday, June 29, 2006, in Tahlequah, at the age of 49 years. She was born Oct. 29, 1956, in Tahlequah, to Lloyd Raymond Hayes and Dorothy Jean Ross. Nonie loved being with her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching softball and playing bingo.

Nonie is survived by her parents; husband Jody Gritts; three daughters, Meredith Towie and husband Lee, Amanda Jones and Laura Jones; two sons, Christopher Jones and companion Candice Gritts and Jonathan Jones and companion Vicki Ruiz; seven sisters, Rita Sudduth, Carolyn Ranallo, Susie Boggs, Juanita Finney, Patricia Hughes, Nina Duncan and Doris Robertson; two brothers, Roy Topping and Jackie Robertson; six grandchildren, Dillion Towie, Kristin Towie, Megan Towie, Maekla Towie, Dakota Jones and Hunter Jones; one grandchild on the way; a special aunt, Jennie Collins; and extended family and friends.

Service was held Wednesday, July 5, at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Foreman Still officiating. Burial followed at Greenleaf Cemetery. Pallbearers included David Collins, Michael Collins, Matt Dew, George Acree, Roger Philpott, Charlie Jones, Gary Jones and Gerald Maritt. Honorary pallbearers included Lee Towie, Luke Hawley, Matt Tehee and Ronnie Towie. Funeral arrangements directed by Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
