No services are scheduled at this time for Wanda Fern Smith, 83, of Marietta. Born December 25, 1934 at Wilson, the daughter of George Parks and Mary Alta Christian Idleman, she died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Marietta.

Wanda Fern was raised at Wilson attending and graduating from school there. She worked several jobs within the community, including dispatcher for Wilson and Lone Grove Police Departments, city clerk assistant, Healdton Tag Agency, and Mistletoe Express of Wilson. Wanda Fern married William Floyd “Blinky” Smith on December 22, 1961 in Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1985. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson and the Eastern Star of Wilson Chapter #369.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Camilla; and brothers, J.T. Sherman and Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Martin and Randy Sloan of Ringling; son, Mike “Buster” Cohoon and wife Evelyn of Marietta; grandchildren, Brandon Martin and wife Melanie and Amy Wade and husband Brandon of Ringling; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Mariah, Brice, Kye and Knox; and other family and friends.

Donations may be made to Hewitt and Bomar Point Cemetery Association.
