Capt. C.B. Blake
The Oklahoma 06 Apr 1918 Submitted by: Emily Jordan CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES Father of Oklahoma Men Commanded Steam Boats on Mississippi EL RENO, Okla., April 5 Capt. C.B. Blake died at Huntington, W.Va, at 12 o'clock Friday, according to word received here. He was the father of attorney E.E. Blake of Oklahoma City, G.O. Blake, general attorney for the Rock Island here, Ed Blake of El Reno, Maj. Gen. Nathan Blake of the United States army and Fon Blake of Gallipolis, Ohio. Captain Blake was 88 years old. He saw service in the Civil war and for many years commanded steam boats on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers between Cincinnati and New Orleans. The Oklahoma sons were at his bedside when he died. |
