Steven Joseph "Steve" Peacher

Steven Joseph Peacher was born on March 17, 1952 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Doctor K. L. and Jo Ann (Smalley) Peacher. He passed away from this life to his heavenly home on February 11, 2023.

Steve attended Rose Witcher Elementary, graduated from El Reno High School, and attended El Reno Jr. College. He joined the United States Airforce in 1974, and served his country for six years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1976 from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. He was a quality control processor for 18 years at Lucent Technology. He worked for 13 years as an onsite geologist. He worked in the gulf building offshore rigs. He also worked at the VA Hospital in the facilities department. He was so happy doing work that helped the veterans. Steve was always a hard worker and retired twice. Steve married the love of his life, Gail Yvonne in 1982. Together they raised three children, Chris, Brandon, and Amanda. He called them our ABC’s. In 1982 they purchased a historical home in El Reno and spent 25 years in it’s preservation, it was a family project. In 1998 they were awarded the citation of merit for preserving El Reno’s architectural heritage. The home was located at 820 S. Rock Island. Steve loved and adored his nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was looking forward to two new great-grandbabies. Steve had a giving nature and was always looking for a special something to give them. If you knew Steve you probably wondered if he ever had a bad day, he always focused on the good things.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Doctor K. L. Peacher; Mother Jo Ann Peacher; brother, Jeffery Peacher; sister, Becky Peacher; and a son, Christopher Joseph Peacher.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; son, Brandon Schroeder and wife Christy and their children Zak Schroeder, Alex Schroeder, and Abby Schroeder; daughter, Amanda Holloway and husband Steven and their children, Austin Mason, Dalton Mason, Morgan Holloway, Logan Holloway, Kylie Holloway, and Dailey Jennings; great-grandson, Maverick Mason; brother, K. L. Peacher II and wife Charla; nephews, Andy Peacher and Ken Peacher; mother-in-law, Helen V. Jones; sister-in-law, Belinda Almond and husband Kelly; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Jones.

A celebration of life for Steven will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 16, 2022 at the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery.

Come and go viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 15 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Steve’s name to a charity of your choice.
