Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd, at El Reno, Ok., in the Beecham Cemetery north of El Reno on Hiway 81. The Reverend Kevin Arensman, Enid, Ok., will officiate.

Verna was born March 20, 1909 to William & Elsie Mayfield, at the Beecham homestead of her grandparents. She attended Pleasant Home grade school, Darlington Jr. High, graduating from El Reno High School 1928. She attended Chickasha Womens College 2 years. Verna met her husband, Samuel Porter Batton, at a social at the Mt. Zion Church. They were married October 22, 1932. They farmed some, lived in California during World War II, and moved back to El Reno in 1942. Porter retired from Dowell, Inc. They had 4 children, Victor, Wanda, Lee, & Buelah Mae.

Verna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Porter, in 1983, and daughter, Beulah Mae in 1936, also 3 brothers & 1 sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda & husband, Geo Floyd, Enid; 2 sons, Victor & Lee Batton of Choctaw; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Beecham Family Cemetery Assoc.,

Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home serving as custodian. May God add His blessing to all who knew and loved Verna.
