Lester V. Johnson
July 31, 1934 ~ July 11, 2014


Lester V. Johnson,79, of Binger, Oklahoma went home to be with his Lord on July 11, 2014 at the Binger Nursing Home in Binger, Oklahoma. He was born to the late Embry Johnson and Birdie Johnson on July 31, 1934 in Binger.

He was of Baptist faith and joined St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until his death.

Lester graduated from Anadarko High School. He later joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and received his honorable discharge in 1958. His service in the Air Force allowed him to travel the world. He spent time at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Orly Air Force Base near Paris, France.

He was employed at Caddo Electric Company for 30 years.

Lester enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and directing the choir. He served in the capacity for many years at St. Paul Church.

Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Embry and Birdie Johnson; 4 brothers: Robert, Roy, Benard and Herbert Johnson; 2 sisters: Mary Johnson and Mildred Johnson.

Lester is survived by 2 sisters: Leta Cox and Audrey Johnson of Binger, Oklahoma; 1 daughter/niece, LaDonna K. Tointigh and a host of relatives and friends. Lester will be missed and loved by everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Binger, Oklahoma with Rev. David Lawrence, officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery in Binger. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Paul E. Johnson
April 24, 1947 ~ May 19, 2010


Paul E. Johnson was born April 24, 1947 in Wayne, WV to Golda Johnson. He died May 19, 2010 in Carnegie at age 63.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. While enlisted he served in Germany.

He moved to Midwest City in the late 1960s. He married Carolyn Smith July 13, 1971 in Gainesville, TX. The couple lived in Edmond before moving to Crow's Roost in 1988.

He served on the Crow's Roost Fire Department. He served as the Assistant Fire Chief for 10 years and was currently serving as Fire Chief.

He and Carolyn were working on raising their third generation of kids.

Survivors include Carolyn Johnson, Ft. Cobb; children, Lori Smithpeter of Tulsa, Joshua Adam Merrell of Eakly, Daniel Merrell and Amanda Merrell, both of Moore; six granddchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Crow's Roost Fire Department.

Services were held at Faith Holiness Church, Eakly, on May 21, with Rev. Dickey Wilson officiating. Burial was at Murray Cemetery, Binger, under direction of Turner Funeral Home, Binger. Condolences may be sent to the family at turnerfuneralhomes@gmail.com.
