Pauline Faye "Polly" [Meeks] Williamson

Pauline Faye "Polly" Williamson, 84, was born April 26, 1926, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to Volnie S. and Gertrude (Nix) Meeks, and passed from this life on Thursday, August 5, 2010, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Polly grew up in Cowden, and attended Cowden Schools. She and Jesse Edward Williamson were married in Mountain View, Oklahoma on October 3, 1942. He soon entered the military and served during World War II. Polly lived with her parents until he was discharged in 1945.

They lived in Dill City before coming to Anadarko in early 1951. They lived in a little house where the hospital is now located. They moved to their home north of Campbell Hill in 1956, and lived there until moving to Glenhaven Assisted Living Center nearly 6 years ago.

Polly was always happy, smiling and encouraging to all. Everyone enjoyed being around her. She was a fabulous cook, an excellent seamstress (she made all her daughter's clothes for years,) she loved quilting, decorating her home, and canning.

She loved music, playing card games and dominoes, being outdoors, and football, especially if she knew someone on the team. Her family called her the original Go-Go Girl, because she loved get in the car and "go."

Polly collected salt & pepper shakers, and hummingbirds. She enjoyed her home demonstration club for many years, and was a very active, faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

Polly is very well known for her beautiful oil, acrylic and pastel paintings. She has won many awards, and many Best of Show ribbons at art shows. She has had paintings displayed at First State Bank for many years, and had her own show at the Philomathic Museum, and her work is displayed proudly in her childrens' homes.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors include her husband Jesse of Glenhaven Assisted Living Center; 3 daughters, Gail Roulet and husband Gary, Debbi Davison and husband Mike, all of Anadarko, and Cherrel Davis and husband Reid of Hobart; grandchildren Dezra Edwards and husband Harlen of Argyle, Texas, Audra Roulet of Ellicott City, Maryland, Rachel Dobbins and husband Lance of Thomas, Oklahoma, Clint Davison and wife Lauren of Healdton, Linc Davison of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Adam Davis of Oklahoma City, and Leslea Tacker and husband Travis of Mountain View; great grandchildren, Naton Edwards of Argyle, Texas, Rheanna, Rhett and Rheid Dobbins of Thomas, Wyatt Davison of Healdton, Polly Kate Tacker, and twins Luke and Logan Tacker, all of Mountain View; one sister, Elta Mae Vinson of Missouri; numerous treasured nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loving friends.

Funeral service 10:00 am Monday, August 9, at the First Baptist church, with deacon Al Corley officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery. Viewing ar Steverson Funeral Home from 9 am until 5 pm Saturday, from 1 pm until 9 pm Sunday.
