Malva Jo [Wilhite] Malon

Funeral Mass for Malva Jo Malon, age 90 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, is to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009, in the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Father Stanislaus Samineni will officiate.

Malva Jo was born the daughter of Mitchell Wilhite and Elsie Stevens Wilhite on June 13, 1919, in Purcell, Oklahoma. She died on October 22, 2009 in Chickasha.

She married George Malon in September of 1969 in Cordell, Oklahoma.

Malva Jo traveled extensively. She loved gardening, reading, knitting and quilting. After retirement, she learned to be a potter.

Malva Jo was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and attended the Holy Name Catholic Church in Chickasha. She was also a member of the Elks Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Ellen Cost, husband, George Malon, a stillborn son, and an aunt, Nelia Mae Roberts.

Survivors include: Daughter and Son-in-law: Marcia and CB Bassity of Chickasha; Granddaughter: Erin Bassity of Denver, Colorado; Granddaughter: Leah Bassity of Denver, Colorado; Grandson: David Bassity of Norman; Son: David Wilson of Hawaii; Brother: Frank Smith of Houston, Texas; Brother: Jim Smith of California; Brother: Tony Smith of Tennessee.

Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

There will be no viewing.
