Kathlyn [Kailey] Wilson
November 11, 1919 ~ January 20, 2011


Graveside service for Kathlyn Kailey Wilson, 91, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery, Apache.

Mrs. Wilson died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, in McKinney, Texas.

Services are under direction of Crews Funeral Home, Apache.

She was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Anadarko. She lived in Lawton during her childhood. She spent most of those years in Apache with her grandparents, Gene and Amanda Woolman.

She moved to Los Angeles, and loved the ocean. After returning to Oklahoma, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

She married Alvis T. Wilson on May 24, 1957, in Lawton. He died Feb. 17, 2006. They retired to Bella Vista, Ark., where she was continued her art and loved playing tennis and golf.

She was an active member of Bella Vista Baptist Church in Bella Vista, Ark.

Survivors include her daughter and a son-in-law, Kathlyn Kailey and John R. Mitchell, Plano, Texas; a stepson, Rowland Wilson, Bedford, Texas; two grandchildren: Shannon Kailey Nieft, Austin, Texas and Kathlyn Brooke Martin, Allen, Texas; and four great-grandchidlren: Kathlyn Nicole Good and Ashlyn Dae Martin, both of Allen, Texas, and Cody Michael Nieft and Kailey Madison Nieft, both of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her grandmother; her parents; a brother; and a son, William Michael Ross.

Jerry Van Lew Wilson
August 29, 1927 ~ June 10, 2008


APACHE -- Funeral for Jerry Van Lew Wilson, 57, Apache, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Apache with Leon Shade, pastor, and A.L. Swagerty, pastor, officiating.

Mr. Wilson died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Lawton.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home, Apache.

He was born August 29, 1927, in Fletcher, to Kendall and Helen Klos Wilson

He graduated from Apache High School and entered the Army in November 1946. He served one year in World War II.

He married Betty Beavers in Apache on July 29, 1950.

He rejoined the Army in October 1950 and fought in Korea. After his service in the Army, he joined the National Guard in 1955 and served with them until 1985, retiring as a master sergeant.

He was an auto mechanic for C.H. Malone Ford of Apache for many years. He was a member of Apache First Baptist Church all his life. He was a master mason of the Apache Masonic Lodge No. 223 and a member of the India Shrine of Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Apache Jaycees, the Apache Round-Up Club and the Apache Rattlesnake Association. He was also a retired member of the Apache Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Rocky Wilson, Tananger, Norway; Jackie and Donna Wilson, Elgin; and Steve and Diana Wilson, Marion, Texas; nine grandchildren: Jon, Casey, Brian, Keith, Jeramie, Jason, Brandi Jo, Justin and Aaron; four great-grandchildren: Maddison Wilson, Alex Wilson, Kimber Don Ward and Jon William Henley; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret and Floyd Sanders, Elgin; and Della Ann and Ray Brown, Lawton.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Don Wilson; a brother, Carl Wilson; a sister, Virginia Kitchens; and his parents.

Melvin Louis Wilson
November 7, 1928 ~ September 10, 2016


Melvin was born November 7, 1928 at Eldorado, OK to O.C. and Fannie Wilson. He was one of twelve children.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nettie Faye; six brothers, Claude, Earnest, Troy, Bud, Billy and Gale; three sisters, Lola, Hazel and Mozelle.

He is survived by one sister, Gladys Morris of Arlington, TX and many nieces, nephews, grandkids and great grand kids.

He was a long time member of Central Hillcrest Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He also liked to play golf and fish.

He graduated from Eldorado H.S. and joined the Army in 1948 serving his country six years with a stint in Korea part of 1952 & 1953. Being discharged in 1954 he worked in the oil field for many years retiring from Baker Oil Tools in 1989.

Services will be held at Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel, Wed, Sept. 14, 2016 at 10 AM with burial to follow at Apache, OK.

Betty Vern [Beavers] Wilson
November 15, 1931 ~ April 19,2018


Betty V. Wilson Of Apache, OK Was born November 15, 1931, on the family home place north of Broxton, to Albert Moses and Lessie Pearl [Cheek] Beavers. She passed away April 19th in Lawton, OK at the age of 86.

Betty graduated from high school and married Jerry Van Lew Wilson on July 29, 1950 in Apache. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2008. Betty worked as a store clerk in several local businesses at one time or another, including Sextonâ•.s Grocery, Elliottâ•.'s Department Store, and Macs Quick Stop. She also worked for a while at the Cyril Funeral Home and for Haggar Slacks.

Betty belonged to several organizations, including Apache Jaycees, the Apache Round-Up Club and Eastern Star. She was also active with the Apache Rattlesnake Association and had served as a board member. Betty was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church. She could always be found helping with church dinners, or holding a baby in the nursery. She loved her friends and family greatly.

She is survived by: 3 sons - Rocky Wilson,Sandnes, Norway, Jackie and wife, Donna Wilson, Elgin, OK, Steve and wife, Diana Wilson, Conway, AR, 8 grandchildren - Jon, Casey, Brian, Keith, Jeramie, Jason, Brandi Jo, Justin, Several great-grandchildren, including -Maddison Wilson, Alex Wilson, Kimber Don Ward, Jon William Henley, Bricelynn Wilson, Reagan Wilson, 1 great-great grandson, Her sister-in-law - Cindy Beavers, Lawton, OK.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Jerry Wilson, 1 son - Larry Don Wilson, 1 grandson - Aaron Wilson, 1 brother - Jim Beavers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24th at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Apache with Pastor Kerry Glasgow officiating and assisted by Pastor Curtis Erwin. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

A Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Aaron C. "Ernie" Wilson
November 3, 1985 ~ June 14, 2015


Funeral service for Aaron "Ernie" Wilson, 29, of Elgin, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Apache with Pastor Larry Thoma and Pastor Kerry Glasgow, officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Apache under the direction of the Elgin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will greet friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Elgin Funeral Home.

Aaron passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015, in Elgin, Oklahoma at the age of 29.

Aaron C. "Ernie" Wilson was born November 3, 1985 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Jackie and Donna [Eason] Wilson.

He graduated from Elgin High School in 2004 and attended Cameron University and OSU OKC.

Aaron worked with his father and Wilson Construction before going to work on a pipeline in Indiana and Utah for 2 years.

He moved back home in 2009 and went to work for a construction company on Ft. Sill and with Wilson Construction.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Apache.

Aaron enjoyed playing basketball, showing lambs, golfing, and working on computers. Of all the things he like, he loved being with his family and friends the most.

He is survived by his parents: Jackie and Donna Wilson, of the home; his brother, Justin Wilson and his wife Christi, of Elgin; his favorite niece, Bricelynn Wilson, of Elgin; Paternal grandmother, Grandma Betty Wilson, of Apache; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Jerry Wilson; maternal grandparents: Gene and Dora Eason; and his uncle, Larry Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Aaron's name to Liberty National Bank of Elgin to help with final arrangements.
