Herman Calvin "Lit" Stafford
August 267, 1925 ~ July 27, 2020


Herman "Lit" Calvin Stafford, of Apache, Oklahoma, was born August 27, 1925, in Gracemont, Oklahoma to Robert Otha and Eula Bell [Gilbreat] Stafford. He passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020, in Marlow at the age of 94.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, from 5-7 P.M. at Crews Funeral Home in Apache. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 30, at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Chris Stinnett officiating, assisted by Rev. Lory Fahle. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Lit attended Stecker schools. He married Loretta Mae Williams on March 19, 1944. After 62 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on July 5, 2006.

He owned and drove trucks for Stafford Brothers Ag Lime and also owned his farm where he raised cattle. He loved all of his family. He enjoyed having family dinners and get-togethers.

Lit is survived by his children: Robert and wife Lori Stafford of Apache; Gerald and wife Donna Stafford of Anadarko; Wanda Staggs of Fletcher; grandchildren: Shyra and husband Craig Howard of Elgin; Mandi and husband Jeremy Walters of Elgin; David and wife Amber Stafford of Lawton; George Stafford of Apache; Madison Stafford of Anadarko; Michelle and husband Rondo Kopepasah of Anadarko; John Stafford of Apache; 15 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and sister, Verna Faye Myers of Cement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta Stafford; brothers: Talmadge Stafford; Truman Stafford; Thurman Stafford; sisters: Johnie Clift, Avil Freeze; Venice "Imogene" Clift; Dovie King; and granddaughter, Charlott Spradling.

Serving as pallbearers will be his great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Head, Jared Head, Travis Head, Clayton Darnell, and Casey Castillo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Apache.

Loretta Mae Stafford, farmer and bookkeeper died Wednesday, July 5, 2006.

Services were held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Apache.

The Crews Funeral Home, Apache, was in charge.
