September 2014 Jill [Vickrey] Shackelford Jill Vickrey Shackelford Of Meers, Oklahoma Was born May 1, 1964 in Anderson, IN to Stanley Brooks and Ruby Earlene [Bennett] Vickrey. She passed away, after battling cancer, in her home on September 29th at the age of 50. After graduating from high school, Jill attended classes to learn court reporting before moving to Oklahoma and going to work as a corrections officer for the El Reno Juvenile Detention Center. Jill then went to work for the Lawton Corrections Facility. She married Mike Shackelford on December 31, 2002 in Anadarko. Jill loved camping and would go at the drop of a hat. She was also a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing sports. She was a member of the Life Matters Cancer support group. She was also a member of Paradise Valley Baptist Church. The family would like to express their thanks to Faith Hospice for their loving support through Jill’s final journey. She is survived by: Her husband, Mike, of the home 3 sons - Joshua and wife, Bailey Vickrey Rapid City, SD Peyton and wife, Samantha Archer Lake St. Louis, MO Tommy Shackelford of the home 1 daughter - Glenna Archer and her fiancé, Luke Lindsay Lawton, OK 3 grandchildren- Landon Vickrey, Mayson Vickrey and Hunter Myers Her parents - Stanley and Earlene Vickrey Oklahoma City, OK 2 brothers and their wives - Gary and Cate Vickrey New Smyrna Beach, FL Terry and Bobi Vickrey Newport Beach, CA 1 sister and her husband - Renee and Dennis Doughty Pampa, TX Her Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins by the Dozens Her parents-in-law - Don and Melinda Shackelford Apache, OK 2 brothers-in-law - Gary and Melanie Shackelford Paradise Valley, OK Robin Shackelford Paradise Valley, OK 3 sisters-in-law - Jessica and Joe Lindsey Apache, OK Sarah and Jamie Du Bois Anadarko, OK Heather Shackelford Lawton, OK And many friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Her brother-in-law, Rusty Shackelford. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2nd at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Apache with Pastor Donnie Crittendon officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Apache, under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Paradise Valley Baptist Church Youth Program. |
December 2010 Thomas Russell "Rusty" Shackelford Funeral services for Thomas R. "Rusty" Shackelford, 45, Lawton, will be 2:00 pm Friday at the First Baptist Church of Apache with Rev. Chuck Pettigrew, Pastor of the Liberty Heights Christian Church, officiating. Mr. Shackelford died Tuesday in Lawton. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Apache under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He was born December 24, 1964 in Cyril to Donald and Ronnie Sue (Griggs) Shackelford. He graduated from Apache High School with the class of 1983. Mr. Shackelford then did a four year electrical apprenticeship in Lawton. He was a Journeyman Contractor. He had owned Rusty's Electric, Inc for ten years. He was presently employed by Southern Plains Electric. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Apache Lodge, and a Shriner. He married Heather Jane Lee on March 28, 1992 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He is survived by his wife of the home; his father and stepmother, Donald and Melinda Shackelford of Apache; three brothers, Mike Shackelford and his wife Jill of Meers, Robin Shackelford of Paradise Valley and Gary Shackelford and his wife Melanie of Paradise Valley; two sisters and their husbands, Jessica and Joe Lindsey of Apache and Sarah and Jamie DuBois of Anadarko; Grandma Lee of the home and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents, Ed and Mary Shackleford and Everett and Kay Griggs.
