Quentin Alan Jared


Quentin Alan Jared of Apache, OK was born August 13, 1952 in Anadarko, OK to Dr. Marvin Brinton and Beatrice May [Norlund] Jared. He passed away at his home in the Hatchetville area on December 27, 2013 at the age of 61.

After Quentin graduated from high school, he worked as a diesel mechanic and in construction most of his life.

He was married to Vickye Dow on February 11, 1977 in Carnegie, OK.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Anadarko.

Quentin was a gifted artist, and worked in several mediums. He worked with wood carving, antlers, oil painting on canvas, as well as metal pieces. His strength lay in painting `natural' scenes. He once was awarded a Grand Champion ribbon for an oil painting his did of his daughter, Sharla, at the TriCounty Fair in Carnegie. He was also interested in Native American art and history.

Quentin loved spending time with local "old-timers" in the Hatchetville area as they would come by and tell stories from their past, and the local history. He liked to ride motorcycles and was a member of the NRA. He also liked shooting, and playing pool. He loved his family greatly and enjoyed spending time with all of them.

He is survived by: 2 sons-Max Jared of Apache; Daniel and wife, Rebekah Jared of Oklahoma City; 2 daughters-Sharla Jared of Lawton; Victoria Jared and fiancé, Anthony Agostini of Lawton; 3 grandchildren-Steven Robnett, Macy Jared, Ace Agostini; 5 brothers-Marcus and wife, Carol Jared of Anadarko; Jahn and wife, Teresa Jared of Queen Creek, AZ; Dorian and wife, Lita Jared of Gilbert, AZ; Aaran and wife, Shanell Jared of Cedar Hills, UT; Daran Jared of Salt Lake City, UT; 2 sisters-Marcia and husband, Rick Cotter of Chandler, AZ; Becky Blehm and Bob Riley of Carnegie, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 31st at 1:00 P.M. at Crews Funeral Home. Inurnment in Fairview Cemetery, Apache, will follow at a later date.
