Albert C. "Pete" Huckleberry
December 31, 1946 ~ January 17, 2010


Albert C. "Pete" Huckleberry Of Apache, Oklahoma Was born December 31, 1946 in Anadarko, OK to George and Mearl [Aldridge] Huckleberry. He passed away January 17th in Apache at the age of 63.

He married Marsha Elaine Smith on November 23, 1967 in Apache.

He worked at Ft. Sill for Civil Service in the telephone company until he retired in January 2003.

Pete was a member of the Stecker Assembly of God Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He collected all kinds of critters and loved children.

Pete is survived by his wife, Marsha, of the home, 1 brother - Jerry and Carla Huckleberry Apache, OK, 1 brother-in-law - Marvin Stubblefield Tulsa, OK, 3 sisters - Thelma Ferrell Apache, OK, Delphia and Burnice Turpin Mustang, OK, Georgia Ann Bullock Tulsa, OK, 2 sisters-in-law - Teresa and Carl Lindsey Apache, OK, Philonda Heilaman Duncan, OK, Many Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by - His parents, 2 sisters - Mildred Huckleberry and Wilma Stubblefield, 2 brothers-in-law - Dalton Ferrell and Gary Heilaman.

Services for Pete Huckleberry will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Apache with Reverend Leon Shade and Reverend Bud Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Carla Lawan [Bybee] Huckleberry
June 20, 1949 ~ October 2014


Carla Lawan Bybee Huckleberry was born June 20, 1949 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Elvie Leola and Garland M. Bybee.

She graduated from Apache High School in 1967.

She soon met the love of her life, Jerry Don and they were married January 26th, 1968.

She worked at Ft. Sill for 34 years as a contract specialist inspector.

Carla loved music and quilting. Her beautiful creations decorate her home and the homes of her children.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church where she has served as their pianist since March of 2011.

She was well known in the community of Apache as a very giving and kind lady. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her sense of humor and the indelible mark she left in the lives of those she knew was priceless. A loving wife, a wonderful mother, a compassionate grandmother – Carla was someone whose love knew no limitations.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home. Their children are Sean and Dana Huckleberry and their son Ben along with Tom and Amanda Benke and their children Alex and Heather. Carla is survived by one brother Milton and his wife Gail Bybee and two sisters, Kaleta Hudgins, and Marlene and Phillip London, Step Mother Bobbie Bybee, Step sister, Glenda and Paul McWilliams, Step brothers Royce and Elsie White and Delbert White and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carla was preceded in death by both parents and one older sister, Laqueta Monroe, her brothers-in-law Dalton Ferrell, Pete Huckleberry, Jim Hudgins, Leon Monroe, and sister-in-law Wilma Lee Stubblefield.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 9, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Rue Scott officiating and assisted by Rev. A.L. Swagerty.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
