Loretta "Jiggs" [Morrison] Weedn

CYRIL Graveside service for Loretta Morrison Weedn, 89, Cyril, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, with the Rev. Kirk Smethers, pastor of First Christian Church of Cyril, officiating.

Mrs. Weedn died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in Chickasha.

Arrangements are under direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher.

Mrs. Weedn was born Sept. 25, 1920, west of Cyril, to Daniel F. and Ollie Weeks Morrison. She graduated from Cyril High School and married Herbert L. Weedn on March 7, 1943. They lived and farmed all their lives in the Cyril area. Nicknamed as a baby, she was known to family and friends as "Jiggs." She was a homemaker working alongside her husband on the family farm. She loved to cook and was known for her pies and cakes which she made for many people through the years. She also loved making quilts and, for a period of time, quilting with the ladies of First Christian Church of Cyril. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cement and baptized as an adult by the Rev. O.A. Granty. Loretta loved her family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Roger Weedn and his wife, Sue, Cyril; a daughter, Beverley Wayman and her husband, David, Muskogee; grandchildren: Mark Weedn, Cyril; James Wayman, Tulsa; Ryan Wayman, Muskogee; John Weedn and his wife, Jennifer, Miami, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Andrew and Jakob Weedn, and Alexa and Gunner Price; sister, Lois Camp, Cyril; two sisters-in-law: Clara Weedn, Cement; and Bonnie Weedn, Chickasha; and many caregivers during her final years including Jeanne Capshaw, Peggy Pierce, Bobbie Thomas, Jeff Periman and Ada Riddle.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, H.L. Weedn; her parents; sisters: Lola Ware, Mary Francis "Pete" Jenson and Alice Rackley; and a daughter-in-law, Shari Thompson Weedn.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel in Fletcher.

Reba Rilla [Ikard] Weedn

CYRIL Funeral for Reba Rilla Ikard Weedn, 85, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Cyril with the Rev. Charles Echols, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Weedn died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, in Lawton.

Burial will be at Celestial Gardens in Cyril under direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher.

She was born Dec. 5, 1923, west of Cyril, to Don Carl and Rilla Edith Robertson Ikard. She married Donald Clarence Weedn on June 28, 1941, in Cyril. He died Aug. 20, 1991. She had worked at the Holly-Tex Carpet Company, the Cyril Nursing Home and the Best Western Motel in Anadarko. She was also a caregiver for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cyril.

Survivors include four children: Sharon Simmons, Cement; Donita Shelton, Lawton; Larry and his wife Paula Weedn, Cement; and John David Weedn, Cyril; nine grandchildren: Ronnie and his wife Tiffany Shelton, Alisha Kahuria, Kim Testerman, Shane and his wife Tonya Weedn, Jason Weedn, Amy Walker, Katie Weedn, Jacee Weedn and Heath and his wife Joni McDonald; 16 great-grandchildren: Cory Weedn, Andrew Shelton, Emily Shelton, Brayden Weedn, Dalton Weedn, Clayton Walker, Erica Hendricks, Nathan Pack, Amber Pack, Matthew Pack, Ryan Shelton, Hayden McDonald, Ava McDonald, Katelynn Colfry, Jayeen Colfry and Bobbie-Lea Colfry; three sisters-in-law: Bonnie Weedn and Loretta Weedn, both of Chickasha; and Clara Weedn, Cement; a brother-in-law, Bill Warfield, Jerusalem, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bonnie Dell [Dominey] Weedn

CHICKASHA Funeral for former Cyril resident Bonnie Dell Weedn, 87, Chickasha, will be at 10 a.m. today at Cyril Church of Christ with Monte Ginnings officiating.

Burial will be in Celestrial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under direction of McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.



Bonnie died Thursday, July 21, 2011, in Chickasha. Bonnie Dell Weedn was born the daughter of Robert Cleveland Dominey and Dorothy Ellington Dominey on Dec. 21, 1923, in Stecker. She attended Cyril Schools from 3rd through 10th grade. She then moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where she graduated from Phoenix Union High School. She married Eldon Weedn on July 19, 1941. During World War II, she and Eldon moved back to Cyril to run the family farm. She was a member of Cyril Church of Christ for 60 years and taught Bible school for 50 years. She also worked with the World Bible School grading correspondence courses. Bonnie was a faithful Christian, wife and mother. In her spare time she loved to travel, read, bowl, and spend time with her family. Due to failing health, she moved to Chickasha in 2003.

Survivors include a son, Roy Weedn; a daughter-in-law, Kay Weedn; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kathy Weedn; granddaughters and husbands: Sara and Clay Selby, and Chrissie Johnson and Charles Rucks; grandsons and wives: Miller and Brittany Weedn, and Tony and Haylee Weedn; and grandson, Mitchell Weedn; great-grandchildren: Annalise, Kate, and Davis Selby, Gabrielle and Justin Johnson, and Olivia Weedn; sisters-in-law: Clara Weedn and Lorene Dominey; and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Dominey; husband, Eldon Weedn; brother, Robert Glen Dominey; brothers-in-law: Herbert, Don, and Otto Weedn; and Wendell Laseter; sisters-in-law: Ima Lois Laseter, Loretta Weedn and Reba Weedn.
