Dessie Mae Wilson Sutterfield, 105, Tulsa, died Friday, March 23 2018, at a local hospital in the company of her family.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.

Dessie was born in Murray, Ky., on Oct. 22, 1912, to Celina McDaniel Wilson and James Robert Wilson. She married O.C. Sutterfield, a Southern Baptist minister, on April 4, 1931. Her many years were devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren along with being a minister's wife and a wonderful nurse.

Dessie is the widow of O.C. Sutterfield and she was preceded in death by one son, Donald Wayne Sutterfield, who died at birth; and her parents, one brother and four sisters.

She is survived by son, Perry Sutterfield and his wife Barbara, of Duncan; daughters: Mary Sutterfield Stark of Denton, Texas; and Jean Sutterfield Grady and husband Ken, of Collinsville, Okla. Dessie is also survived by four grandsons: Richard Sutterfield, Patrick Sutterfield, Brian Sutterfield and Richard Coy II; as well as one granddaughter, Karla DiIorio. She also has 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Dessie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Idabel, and was also a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and was honored by the Oklahoma Centenarians.

Dessie will be remembered for many things during her lifetime - her love of family, her church work and her nursing skills, but her family and friends will reminisce over her skills at dominoes, cards and practical jokes.

Gifts in memory of Dessie Sutterfield may be sent to Physician's Choice Hospice, 14324 N. Western Ave., Edmond 73013, or at physicianschoicehospice.com/donate
