Otis Eugene "Gene" Snider

Funeral Services for Gene Snider will be held Thursday, December 16th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Cyril. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Mr. Snider passed away on Sunday, December 12th in Cyril at the age of 83.

He was born Otis Eugene Snider on June 6, 1927 to T.W. and Willie Helms Snider in Lindsey, OK and was raised in Eunice, NM.

He served in the US Army Corp of Engineers in the Aleutian Islands during WW II. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he and the former Lois Turner were married on October 26, 1948 in Walters, OK.

He spent his whole life in excavation and construction. He and Lois founded Snider Construction Service in Cyril in 1969. Prior to his retirement, he also served as a consultant and foreman for Caddo County District #2 for five years.

He was a member of Living Legends of Rodeo, National Old Timers Rodeo Association, a founding member of the Senior Pro Rodeo Association and the Cyril Roundup Club. He was also an International Rodeo Association cardholder. He won several championship saddles and buckles and loved rodeo as a family sport.

Survivors include: His wife, Lois, of the home, 4 sons and their wives - Monte and Diane Snider Cyril, OK, Jay and Sandi Snider Cyril, OK, Mike Snider Cyril, OK, Joe and Sandy Snider Cement, OK, 2 daughters and their husbands - Lee Ann and Clifton Elrod Cement, OK, Sandy and Johnny Seibold Cement, OK, 12 grandchildren - Jason, Justin, Rusty, Clay, Ryan, Ashley, Adika, Austin, Jordan, Saige, Neda and Caleb, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters - Laverne and Dan Lewis Louin, MS, Ruby Allen Midland, TX, Lura Foss Chowchilla, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers - J.C. Snider and Harvey Snider, 2 sisters - Pearl Deason and Jewell Schlumbohm.

Arthur Earl "Mickey" Snider

Arthur Earl "Mickey" Snider Of Chickasha, OK Was born May 16, 1930 in Sayre, OK to John Franklin and Liddia May [Yandell] Snider. He passed away May 3, 2017 in Chickasha at the age of 86.

Mickey married Ollie Juanita Ryans on June 21, 1952 in Lawton, OK. He worked as a carpenter doing many different types of carpentry work. He loved doing woodworking, and built furniture and other items while tinkering in his shop. Mickey had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Assembly of God Church for many years. He enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family.

He is survived by: His wife, Juanita, of the home 4 children- Donna and Brad Dutton Blanchard, OK Buddy and Dianne Snider Boaz, AL Terry and Linda Snider Stecker, OK, Kathy and Dale Arnold Oklahoma City, OK 8 grandchildren-Staci and David Weiker, Brian and Christina Adams, Misty and Chuck Cannon, Amy and Heath McDaniel, Jasma Snider, Patricia Smith, Susan Evans, Zachary Arnold 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: His parents 1 daughter - Sharon Ratliff 2 grandsons- David Flager and Michael Flager 5 brothers 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the Crews Funeral Home Chapel in Apache, OK with Brother Dennis Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
