Robert Franklin Self
September 12, 1936 ~ December 11, 2012


Funeral service for Robert Franklin Self, 76, Cement, will be at 2: p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Cement Assembly of God with Rev. Phillip Clements, Pastor and Rev. Mike Bates, pastor of the Rush Springs Assembly of God, Rush Springs officiating.

Robert joined his savior and loved ones on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Burial will be in Celestial Gardens, Cyril, under the direction of Becker Cement Chapel.

Robert Franklin Self was born September 12, 1936 in Cement to William Austin Self and Mary Belle [Stancil] Self.

Robert attended school in Cement and High View Schools until the eighth grade, when he left to help support his family.

He married Hazel Charlene Sawyer on June 21, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They established their home in Cement where Robert began working as a roughneck in the oilfield for Hondo Petroleum.

He later operated heavy equipment for construction companies while raising cattle. He then returned to the oilfield later being transferred to Arapaho with Harper Oil. There he helped build Arapaho Assembly of God church where he served as a deacon.

They also welcomed over 100 foster children in their home over the years.

Robert retired from Apache Oil and they were finally able to move back home in 2001. He then became a deacon at Cement Assembly of God Church. He farmed and enjoyed his great grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife Hazel Charlene Self of the home, son Franklin and wife Norma of Cement, son-in-law Robert Wilcox of Cement, brother Arther Self and wife Myrna ofCement, grandchildren Fred Wilcox and wife Amanda of Amber, granddaughter Fredda Wilcox of Cement, granddaughter Trisha Proulx and husband Doug of Cement, grandson Matthew Wilcox and wife Jade of Chickasha and grandson Vance Self of Cement. He is also survived by great grandchildren Rili Brittain, Drake, Morgan, Keaton, Matthew Jr, Luke, Kaydence and Kinsley Wilcox, Ashton, Corbin, Liberty Proulx, Micah Williams and a great great grandson Tryson Brittain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Tommy Self, Daughter Freda Marie Wilcox, a son Norman Lee Self and a grandson Robert Austin Self.

Myrna Ednamae [Akin] Self
August 21, 1939 ~ August 5, 2016


Myrna Ednamae [Akin] Self was born on August 21, 1939 in Norge, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mikel and Leota [Platt] Akin. She passed away August 5, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

As a young child, Myrna moved with her family to California and grew up there. She moved back to the Cement area as a young lady and there she met Arthur Lee Self. They were united in marriage on July 15, 1955 in Cement and had 61 years together.

Myrna spent most of her life as a homemaker, but has also worked at various jobs over the years. She enjoyed watching Joyce Meyer ministries, reading her Bible and playing Skip Bo and dominoes. She was a member of the Cement First Assembly of God Church.

She was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Myrna was preceded in death by both parents, daughter, Janet Fitzpatrick, a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Donna Self of Eakly; sisters, Ellon Hatfield of Lake Port, California, and Thelma Boyle of Boulder, Colorado; son-in-law, Vernon Fitzpatrick; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Myrna Ednamae [Akin] Self, 76, of Cement, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Cement Assembly of God Church with Pastor Lance Perritt officiating and Lindell Warren assisting. Interment in Celestial Gardens Cemetery located in Cyril, Oklahoma.

Patricia Ann "Pat" [Flatt] Self
March 29, 1944 ~ June 19, 2011


Patricia Self of Cement, Oklahoma was born March 29, 1944 in Portales, NM to James E. Flatt and Glenda Bethel Flatt Thomas. She passed away on June 19th in Tulsa, OK at the age of 67.

She graduated from Cyril High School in 1962.

She married Thomas Self on May 25, 1962 in Cyril.

She obtained her LPN license and worked as an LPN for seven years.

She went back to school at El Reno Junior college and graduated with her RN degree. She worked as an RN for nine years.

She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Anadarko, OK.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting baby blankets and doing ceramics. She also played piano at her church.

She moved to Tulsa to live closer to her son three years ago.

She is survived by: Her son and his wife-Thomas Ray and Carrisa Self Tulsa, OK.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Thomas Self, Her son, Terrill Self, Her father, James Flatt, Her step-father, Ike Thomas Sr, Her mother, Glenda Thomas, Her brother, Ike Thomas Jr Her grandparents.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 23rd at 11:00 A.M. in Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril with Pastor Ted Mercer officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Graveside service for Terrill Self, 35, Cement, were held at 10 a.m Friday in the Celestial Gardens, Cyril, with Pastor Donnie Miller, Cyril Full Gospel Church, officiating.

Mr. Self died Monday at his home.

Burial will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher, formerly Robbins Funeral Home.

He was born on November 8, 1972, in Tulia, Texas, to the late Tom Self and Patricia (Flatt) Self. He was a longtime Cement resident. He was an active member of Grace Fellowship in Anadarko.Graveside service for Terrill Self, 35, Cement, were held at 10 a.m Friday in the Celestial Gardens, Cyril, with Pastor Donnie Miller, Cyril Full Gospel Church, officiating.
