Lewis Wilson Scott
March 2, 1913 ~ December 28, 1983


Funeral for Lewis Wilson Scott, 70 of Cyril, will be at 2 pm Friday, December 30, 1983 in the First Baptist Church of Cyril with Rev Don Wright officiating, assisted by Rev Rick Blackwell.

Mr Scott was born March 2, 1913, at Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. He died today, Wednesday, December 28, 1983 in Grady Memorial Hospital, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Mr Scott married Sarah Ellen Brown on July 27, 1934, at Anadarko, Oklahoma, in Caddo County.

He came to Cyril in 1933 from Fort Cobb and worked in yje oil field and farmed all of his life.

He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.

Mr Scott was Preceded in death by both parents and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen of the home, three sons, Charles L. of Rush Springs, Clifford W. and Clayton E. both of Cyril, one daughter, Isabelle Hartline of Cyril, one brother W.A. Scott of Fletcher, four sisters, Hazel Bilyeu of Cyril, Tessie Stirman of Portales NM, Myrtle Roberts of Anadarko and Pearl Staggs of Waldron, Ark, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens, Cyril, under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Charles Luther Scott
June 12, 1938 ~ March 8, 2011


Was born June 12, 1938 south of Anadarko, OK to Lewis Wilson and Sarah Ellen Brown Scott. Charles had back surgery on February 28th at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He went to be with Jesus Christ on March 8th at 12:03 A.M. He was 72 years old.

Charles served in the Army.

He later worked at Fort Sill, OK for Page Aircraft Company where he met his wife, Miriam in 1959. It was love at first sight. They were engaged on February 14th and married April 4, 1959. They would have celebrated 52 years together next month.

He was hired to the Ft. Sill Fire Department and worked his way up until he became Assistant Fire Chief. He retired in 1988.

Charles was a member of several snowmobile clubs in Colorado. He also was on the Snowmobile Search and Rescue Team.

He assisted the Department of Wildlife in their wildlife relocation program.

He loved horseback riding in the mountains.

Charles also enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars from the 1950's.

In 1999, he was attending the Cyril Christian Church when he decided to renew his faith in the Lord. He was so proud to be a Christian.

For a little over a year, he and his wife lived in Newcastle, OK and attended the Newcastle Christian Church. He was most recently a member of the Fletcher Christian Church where he has had a wonderful, spiritual experience. He has witnessed to several boyhood friends and relatives about coming back to Christ. Charles felt completely safe in saying he was "right with God" and knew he would see Him.

He is survived by: His wife, Miriam, of the home; 1 daughter and her husband - Jennifer and Lee Gilchrest Bridgecreek, OK; 2 granddaughter - Lauren Brooke and Autumn Rachelle; His Mother - Sarah Ellen Scott Cyril, OK; 2 Brothers and their wives - Clayton and Jo Scott Cyril, OK, Clifford and Alice Scott Cyril, OK; 1 Sister and her husband - Isabell and Daryl Lingle Cyril, OK; Numerous Nieces and Nephews, each very special to him.

He was preceded in death by: His father, Lewis Wilson Scott; His son, Brent Charles Scott.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 11th at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Jim Hall officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery at Cyril, OK under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charles Scott Memorial Fund at Chickasha Bank & Trust, Cement, OK.
